How we report

AIGamer covers people making games with AI. These are the rules every story follows.

We credit our sources

Every story names where its information came from, in the text and in a Sources box at the end with links. When another outlet broke a story, we credit them even if we also confirm it with the original repo, paper or company post. Interviews are credited to the outlet that did them, and posts on social media to the person who wrote them.

We write in our own words

We read the sources, then write the story ourselves. When the exact wording matters, we quote it: in quotation marks, kept short, and credited to the person who said it. Translated quotes are marked as translations.

We label what kind of story it is

Each story carries a label so you know what it rests on:

  • Report: we're summarizing other outlets' reporting. Stories based on one outlet or anonymous sources start with “Report:” and say they aren't confirmed.
  • Announcement: based on a company's or project's own announcement.
  • Press release: the claims are the company's own, and we say when we haven't tested the product.
  • Research: based on a paper or benchmark; results are the authors'.
  • Opinion: an argument, clearly labelled. News stories stay neutral.
  • Original: our own reporting, testing or analysis.

Games pages aren't reviews

Each Games page covers one game: what it is, who made it and how AI helped build it, with details from the developer's own posts and pages. We don't score games.

Images

We use official art and screenshots from developers and companies, or the project's own preview images, and credit them. When there's nothing we can use, we make an illustration and label it “Illustration: AIGamer (AI-generated)”. Our illustrations never show real people or brand logos. We don't reuse other outlets' photos.

Corrections

If a fact in a story changes or we got it wrong, we update the story and add a dated note saying what changed. We don't silently change facts.

How we use AI

We're a site about making things with AI, and we use it too. Stories are researched and drafted with the help of AI tools, then checked and edited by a person before they're published. AI-made illustrations are always labelled.
