A solo developer is building After the Wind, a monster-hunting action RPG, in Godot with the coding agents Claude Code and Codex, according to the game's account on X (@afterthewinddev). The developer says the first MVP took 5 weeks.
The game mixes Ragnarok Online with Monster Hunter. Players hunt creatures such as the mushroom boar, mine ores and craft weapons from what they collect, and co-op hunts are planned.
The developer describes the process on X: every feature starts with an idea and some research, gets built with Claude Code and Codex, then is judged in the game and iterated.
Figures shared by Stefan 3D AI on X put the 5-week MVP at 38.5 billion tokens in Claude Code and 2.9 billion in Codex, across 112,000 tool calls, with up to 8 agents running at once. Stefan 3D AI called it the cleanest AI-made game MVP he'd seen, because every asset matches one painterly style.
Recent updates added 12 weapons crafted from monsters and ores, and a character creator with a live color picker so players stand out in co-op hunts.
Why it matters: a consistent art style is one of the things AI-built games often struggle with, and this is a public, week-by-week record of one developer running several agents on a single project.
Caveat: the token and tool-call figures come from Stefan 3D AI's post, not from the developer, and AIGamer hasn't verified them.
The developer marked week 6 with a short trailer, says a first playtest is coming, and is asking followers to rename a creature currently called "Waddlewing".
