Hollowcrown is a free boss-rush action game for desktop browsers from developer Vestom, released on itch.io on October 31. Its itch.io page calls it a "dark fairy-tale boss rush" and lists four bosses, each designed as a puzzle: the Skeleton Warlord, the Frost Dragon, the Slime King and the Archmage, whose attacks destroy the arena floor under the player. Players pick one of three classes (Knight, Hunter or Reaper). Every boss attack is signaled in advance, so the loop is to read the warning, roll through the hit during the dodge's invincibility window, then counterattack while the boss is vulnerable. Each run follows a roguelite structure: players clear a room of minions that introduces the next boss's mechanic before the fight itself, and the upgrade cards collected along the way alter how the game's rules work instead of simply boosting stats.
How it was made
How it was made: Vestom built Hollowcrown in the Godot engine, according to the itch.io page, and the page's AI disclosure says the code was made with AI assistance. The page doesn't name the AI tool or describe how it was used.
The game plays with WASD to move, the mouse to aim, left click to attack, Q and E for skills and Space to dodge. On slower machines, the developer recommends turning down the graphics settings in the Options menu.
