How it was made: the README credits the Three.js port to mrdoob "with @claude". In a post on X on January 24, 2026, mrdoob (@mrdoob) shared a video of Quake running in Three.js, captioned as the result an hour after he asked Claude for help with the port. Neither source names the Claude model or tool, says how much of the code Claude wrote, or says how long the full port took. The GitHub repository, created January 27, 2026, has more than 300 commits, the most recent on August 14, 2026. It also contains a dedicated multiplayer server built on Deno and WebTransport; the README doesn't say whether the hosted web build offers online play.

Three Quake
- Web browser
Summary
Three Quake is a browser version of id Software's first-person shooter Quake, ported to the Three.js 3D library by Ricardo Cabello (mrdoob), who first released Three.js in 2010. The project's README credits id Software for the original game, links id's published Quake source code, and says the repository ships the shareware pak0.pak data file for Episode 1, so the first episode is free to play on the project's GitHub Pages site; owners of the registered game can drop in their own pak0.pak for the rest. The port's code is licensed under GPL v2.
