How it was made: AI runs the gameplay itself. According to the game's source code, the built-in players use DeepSeek V4.1 Flash through the TokenDance model gateway, and Google's Gemini 3.5 Flash Lite (through ZenMux) generates the characters; players who add their own key can choose from about 20 models, including Claude, GPT-5.2, Gemini, Qwen, Kimi, GLM and MiniMax. The README names TokenDance as the sponsor behind the main game logic, character roleplay and summaries, thanks Alibaba Cloud's DashScope and Watcha for AI support, and says Wolfcha started at the Watcha ร ModelScope Global Hackathon. Character voices use MiniMax text-to-speech and, according to the source code, only work with the player's own TokenDance or MiniMax key. The game is written in Next.js and TypeScript by Zhihuang Lin (oil-oil on GitHub). The repository also contains instruction files for AI coding assistants (CLAUDE.md and AGENTS.md) and an image-generation prompt for the wolf character in the README banner, but the project doesn't say how much of the code or art was made with AI.

Summary
Wolfcha is a browser version of the social-deduction party game Werewolf, built so one person can play without gathering a group. According to the project's README, the player sits in one seat of an 8- to 12-player game while large language models fill all the others; each AI player keeps a consistent character alongside its secret role and argues, lies and votes as the rounds unfold. The README also lists optional AI voices and a spectator mode. The site's FAQ describes Wolfcha as free with no registration, but when we tried it on October 31, 2026, starting a game asked us to sign in. According to the game's source code, new accounts start with 1 game credit; after that, players buy credits through Watcha Pay or TokenPay, or plug in their own API key.
